Our Story

Two friends.
A new chapter in Midleton.

From Tory’s Café in Cork to LUMI on Riverside Way.

LUMI began with two friends and a shared love of good food. After working at Apple, Ali Can Fincan and Halit Aker stepped into hospitality at Tory’s Café in Ballyphehane, Cork. There, Irish breakfast favourites met Turkish flavours, shaping an approach built around generous plates and a warm welcome.

When the opportunity came to take over a restaurant in Midleton, they brought that spirit to LUMI: a modern brasserie with breakfast and brunch at its heart, alongside lunch and dinner.

Today, Turkish touches and ingredients from Cork suppliers bring their own character to the menu. Whether you’re catching up over coffee or settling in for dinner, there’s a place for you at our table.
